Four Weeks.

The strangest thing about four weeks? When people ask me about Harrison, the first thing that pops into my mind is the pressure & pain of childbirth. Not his blonde hair, not the early-morning wake-up calls...but my pelvic area almost begins to ache remembering the pressure of pushing. I wonder if that will ever stop, or if I'm doomed to be a freak that squirms in her pants 20 years from now.

But it's worth it, just to have this little lad in his wee whale sweater:

I have never left a comment on here for you before, but I have been a faithful reader since you found out you were pregnant last January. And I have to say, Harrison looks so much like Nate in this picture! Wow, what a handsome little guy! Congrats!

He's adorable! Give it a few more weeks...you'll get over it. (You won't forget, but I'm sure you'll get over it!!)

Trust me, you'll forget! My little one is 10 months and my friend w/ a 6 week old was asking me about my labor and truthfully I don't remember much!

Congrats on your beautiful baby boy!

The memories fade. Trust me. I was haunted by similar recollections until my little J was probably 6 months old (the graphic childbirth dreams didn't help, of course) but gradually the physical memory fades and you just remember that it hurt a lot without the visceral reaction to the memory.

You do forget, completly really. When I had my Dd I swore to god and everyone who would listen I wasen't doing that again. Now I am pregnant with #2 and can hardly remember anything about #1- supposedly we have some hormone that helps us forget. Oh yeah and your little boy is adorable!

You might not forget, but it will fade over time. And one day it will fade enough that you can't wait to do it all over again. However, after reading your birth story I'm surprised your ob let you go that long with his fluid being so low and all the issues with breaking the water and lack of progression. Most ob's would've done a c-section.

It's lies... you will not forget. My DS in 7 months and I remember almost every horrific moment of childbirth. It's fading some, but I remember, Oh, I remember.

Blair,
Thanks for the babylegs info. I may get L a pair. They look adorable on Harrison. Love the sweater. In fact, multiple people know I would love the sweater - I got three. In 3mths, 6mths and 9mths. I guess I'm pretty easy to read!

BTW, babe is gorgeous!
